Gregory A Edwards, PMP
Project Manager/Architect/Software Engineer

In 1982 I began my career as a Software Engineer, Project Manager, and Consultant. My first project was an in-house Check Verification System for a local JC Penney store. I managed the project from requirements gathering, project proposal, contract bidding, development, deployment, change management, training, and turnover. In the 1st quarter, after deployment, the store reported a 30% decrease in losses from bad checks.

In 1985 I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California State University Stanislaus in Turlock, California. During my senior year I had the honor of representing the university in the annual ACM Programming Competition.

In 1985 I went to work for Vynet Corporation in San Jose, California as an applications programmer. Vynet was an Interactive Voice Response manufacturer.

In 1987 I moved to Texas and went to work for GTE Telemessager in Irving. GTE Telemessager developed Interactive Voice Response applications on vendor IVR systems for client companies. I was assigned a project with Phillips Petroleum. The product was an IVR system to allow gas stations to order and schedule deliveries. I had full responsibility for the project and was very excited about the opportunity. I managed the project, designed the software architecture, designed and developed the application, and was responsible for user documentation and training.

In 1988 I established myself as a full time Consultant serving clients in the DFW Metroplex. I have had the pleasure of providing end to end solutions to a wide range of clients covering a broad spectrum of industries. I take a great deal of pride in the quality of the products that I have produced and the relationships that I have established through my work. I am a self starter and sharply focused on the goal, "the goal is to get the job done". I am an advocate of documenting all aspects of the product produced. If I do my job correctly the product support team can understand how the product works and how the software is structured from the document set, without having to read the code.

I am married with 3 children, whom I am very proud of. My family has been very active in our community since moving to Coppell, TX in 1987. I have played an active role in several community sports organizations, including serving on the board. I started an annual 4th of July group Day at the Ballpark event through my church's mens club.

I am a veteran and proud to have served in the United States Coast Guard from 1974 to 1978. I was very proud of the job that my brothers and sisters did after Hurricane Katrina, Semper Paratus.
